LCD SOUNDSYSTEM - 45:33
45:33 is an album commissioned by Nike for their Nike+ Original Run series, a series of albums made for running and jogging. In public, James Murphy would describe it as being used for maintaining jogging workouts, and that the highs and lows of the song provided a workout routine for people to follow
He even stated that he refined the album while running on a treadmill multiple times. Really, James wanted to make a really long song akin to E2-E4 by Manuel Gottsching. However at the time he didnt really have the budget to do that, which is the reason he accepted the deal with Nike.
Its like a mutalistic relationship: Nike would have another album added into their record label, and LCD Soundsystem would be given the funding to make the album. The title of the album doesnt refer to the length, but instead different vinyl speeds, 45 and 33 RPM.
